A Greener Lent is an ingenious program that invites people to direct the traditional Lenten observances of
-
prayer,
-
fasting and
-
almsgiving
toward Care of our Common home.
Participants commit to:
-
pray for and with creation
-
choose some level of fasting from meat
-
donate money (saved by the diet) to a program that digs wells in Africa for communities needing clean water. The donations go through Cross Catholic Outreach.
