Day 13
Your own prayer

Spend time with the photo

Photo credit: R. Hassinger

Prayer has a deeper priority (than making yourself holy);

it is the sanctification of the world

of which you are a privileged inhabitant.

Listen to the voices

of longing in your soul,

your hungers. …

Make a prayer that is big enough for your wild soul,

Write a prayer that is worthy

of the destiny to which you have been called.

John O'Donohue (1956-2008)

Irish poet, author, priest, philosopher,

from Eternal Echoes

Wholeness

consists of coming back into relationship

with what is deepest in all things;

that is, the of-Godness

at the heart of the earth

and all life forms

and all people.

John Philip Newell

poet, peacemaker, minister and scholar of Celtic spirituality

Write your own prayer.

 Special thanks for the way poets open our hearts to the sacred
