When you pass through deep waters,

I will be with you;
   your troubles will not overwhelm you.
When you pass through fire,

you will not be burned;
   the hard trials that come

will not hurt you.

Isaiah 43:2

“Climate change is a global problem with grave implications

Its worst impact will probably be felt

by developing countries in coming decades.

Many of the poor

live in areas affected by warming,

and their means of subsistence are largely dependent

on natural reserves such as agriculture, fishing and forestry.

They have no other

resources which can enable them to adapt to climate change

or to face natural disasters

Their access to social services and protection is very limited.

The impact of the present imbalance is also seen in

the premature death of many poor people,

in conflicts sparked by the shortage of resources, and

in any number of other problems

which are insufficiently represented on global agendas.

Pope Francis, in Laudato Si' (25)

In April, 2025, interfaith leader GreenFaith led an prayer service at Old North Church, Boston..  Reminiscent of the church lanterns that sparked the American Revolution  250 years ago ("one if my land; two if by sea"), the lantern was lit green by Mayor Wu of Boston, to launch SUN*Day, a September Solstice nationwide statement about the power and potential of solar energy.

At that prayer service, Rabbi Shoshana Meira Friedman led the congregation in the Anthem, The Tide is Rising, which she composed.  Hear it hear:  "The Tide is Rising"

The children's book based on the song is an excellent message for young and old.
